So, you’ve read all the “How To.......” books, you’ve done all the seminars to improve yourself, you’ve gone to Dale Carnegie to get a personality. You’ve done everything your employer has asked you to do and said they would pay for and then some. But guess what, work still bites doesn’t it? Why?
Because no matter how close to God’s image of the perfect business unit or employee you become, the people around you - your bosses, coworkers, etc. - haven’t progressed up Maslow’s Hierarchy as fast as you have. They’re not as enlightened. They say, do and act in ways that make you shake your head - either from laughing your brains out at some goofy policy or ritual or decree you’re supposed to follow or from dealing with their stupidity, ranging in departments from HR (human remains) to the corner office (CEO’s suite) to Logistics (big name for shipping). You can’t control them, but you’re welcome to submit your stories, comments, ideas about them and your experiences if you like and if appropriate we’ll publish them. At the same time, I’ll be relating stories that I have experienced and business-related stories that make us laugh (or cry). In addition, WorkBytes is also about giving you resources and insights that might make your day or next meeting or job hunt or new business venture just a little more fun and even successful. Hope you like it!!!!
