Walk It Off

Better yet, run it off. I’ve always run. Well not always. I started running for exercise back in 2nd year university. I always played sports like hockey, football, soccer so I never really need to. But by the time I hit the U I was out of shape and running got it back. However, it wasn’t until about 2 years ago that I started running much longer distances - like half and marathon distances. I’m running on average about 3.5 miles per day as I set a goal to run 1000 miles this calendar year. I hit just over 900 miles last year ‘cause Christmas break came. Oops!! This year, I’ll get the miles done sooner so I can take it easy during the holidays. Yah right!

Okay, more about me…

I’ve started and closed or sold a number of businesses, worked for egocentric engineers and MBAs, wacked out Managers, consulted, recruited, employed people, fired people and generally tried to have fun. It hasn’t always worked; the having fun part, that is. Some people seem to think when you look like you’re having too much fun at work you must not be working; you’re supposed to be miserable like they are. Sorry, I don’t buy in to that crap. Show me a Manager who’s an asshole and I’ll show you guy who’s miserable. Get a life buddy! If I’m going to spend better than half my life at work, it better have some fun in it and a purpose.

I guess that’s why I’m self-employed. I’ll just have fun by myself. Speaking of funny business, that’s really what this blog, site, web thingie is really all about. I thought it would be fun to compile stories work related that may not only humor us but some may leave us shaking our heads with disbelief or perhaps even inspire us. Read on...to the Meat of this site.
